How Freelancers & Solopreneurs Can Actually Generate Leads from LinkedIn (Without Overcomplicating It)

Let me say something that might sound controversial:

Generating leads on LinkedIn is not hard. Not taking action is.

Most people think:

→ “It’s complicated”

→ “Too much competition”

→ “Maybe I need better tools”

But honestly?

It’s simpler than you think - if you stop overthinking and start doing the right things consistently.

So let’s break it down into 5 practical steps 👇

1. Your Profile Isn’t a Resume. It’s a Landing Page.

You’ve heard this before. I know.

But here’s what most people miss:

👉 It’s not about having a good profile

👉 It’s about making it relevant to the person reading it

Ask yourself:

  • Does my headline clearly say what I do?
  • Is my profile aligned with the content I post?
  • Can someone instantly understand how I can help them?

Because even LinkedIn pushes profiles where content + profile = clarity

No clarity → No reach → No leads

2. Content: Not Just Posting… But Positioning

There are 2 types of people on LinkedIn:

1. “I create content” people They post. They stay visible. But no conversions.

2. “I create intent-driven content” people They attract. They convert. They grow.

If you're a freelancer or solopreneur, your content should:

✔ Speak to a specific audience (SMBs, founders, decision-makers)

✔ Solve real problems

✔ Show your thinking (not just information)

And sometimes?

You don’t need a “perfect post”.

Just write what you genuinely think - then refine it.

3. Use AI… But Don’t Sound Like AI

Let’s be real - tools like ChatGPT can make content creation faster.

But faster ≠ better.

Here’s how to use it smartly:

  • Write your raw thoughts first
  • Then ask AI to refine, structure, and optimize
  • Make it mobile-friendly and conversational

Your voice + AI polish = 🔥

Not the other way around.

4. DMs: Stop Selling. Start Talking.

This is where most people lose the game.

A bad DM feels like:

❌ Desperate

❌ Copy-paste

❌ Transactional

A good DM feels like:

✔ Human

✔ Curious

✔ Respectful

Think about real life.

When you meet someone for the first time, you don’t say:

“Hi, buy my service.”

You ask. You understand. You connect.

LinkedIn is no different.

5. Experience + Clarity = Trust

When someone visits your profile, they should know:

→ What you do

→ Who you help

→ How you help

Not in complicated words. Not in fancy jargon.

Just… clearly.

Even if you don’t have:

  • Awards
  • Big credentials
  • Recommendations

You still have:

👉 Your clarity

👉 Your positioning

👉 Your story

And that’s enough to start.

The Real Problem?

You already know most of this.

But:

Knowing doesn’t get you leads. Doing does.

And consistency?

That’s where the real game is.

Because when your focus is clear, consistency stops feeling “hard” and starts feeling necessary.

I’ve seen this closely while working with 1000+ learners and multiple freelancers & solopreneurs:

The difference is never talent.

It’s always:

👉 Clarity

👉 Action

👉 Consistency

If this resonated with you, I’d love to know:

Which part hit you the most?

Because that tells me what you’re struggling with - and what I should write next.

Is the Organic Reach of LinkedIn Going Down? – Here’s the Proof

I have been active on LinkedIn for over two years now. And I got my voice heard. I found many people who resonated with my LinkedIn posts.

And my posts also reached people with whom later worked with.

But for the last few weeks, I have a nagging feeling – “The organic reach of LinkedIn posts is going down.” I checked with some friends; they felt the same. But I didn’t find definite proof.

So, I went through the data I had. And ran an experiment to uncover the trend in the organic reach of LinkedIn.

The trend in LinkedIn’s organic reach – My experiment

I picked up random posts from the last two months and noted down their stats. And below lists the statistics of some best performing posts when I received a good LinkedIn organic reach.

For this experiment, I excluded those posts which reached to more than 10,000 people.

As you can see from the data, one image post had 6000+ views, while another one crossed 2000 views. Then, the two text posts reached 4000+ and 9000+ people each.
However, the stats from the later posts weren’t so promising.

The table below lists the data of some top-performing recent posts (at the time of writing). Here too, I didn’t include the posts which had 10,000+ views.

These LinkedIn posts were text posts. And as you can see, these posts reached to only around 1000-2000 people.

A significant downfall, indeed. But don’t reach the conclusion yet. I dug further.

i) I calculated the average reach of a bunch of posts (and not only the top ones). And during the time, when LinkedIn algorithm favoured my posts, the average reach came out to be 1322 per post.

ii) Then, I averaged the reach of the recent posts. And the number was 922 per post.

iii) After that, I calculated the percentage difference. And the resultant number was around 31%. Yes, the average reach of my LinkedIn posts tipped down 30% within a matter of days.

And because of the reduced reach, the user engagement in those LinkedIn posts suffered too. It further affected the reach. Earlier, I used to see engagement from many people who weren’t even connected. But with my recent posts, I noticed interaction from my connections and followers only.

The probable reasons for this behaviour

As per my observations, the following are the reasons for this changed behaviour of LinkedIn algorithm –

● A growing number of content creators –

In the last few months, the popularity of LinkedIn grew manifold. Because of the coronavirus pandemic and country-wide lockdown, people began networking on LinkedIn. Many users, who weren’t active earlier, started posting on LinkedIn.

Marketers also became active as they found LinkedIn to be the best social media for organic reach. And with the huge influx of posts, the average reach went down.

● Monetizing efforts by LinkedIn –

As more content creators joined LinkedIn, many new features were introduced to keep them engaged. From document sharing to videos, and audio messages to reactions on posts, LinkedIn made a plethora of major and minor developments.

Recently, it also introduced Stories. And as LinkedIn saw an increase in daily log-ins, they found an opportunity for monetization. They reduced the reach. And now, more users will have to pay for LinkedIn Ads to boost their posts and reach their audience.

Conclusion

The organic reach of LinkedIn posts has taken a hit for sure. It might not be the organic social media platform it used to be. But you can still lead.

Build your authority and interact with your community. When you offer value and people resonate with your posts, they’ll engage and they’ll wait for your posts. And LinkedIn algorithm changes won’t be a cause of worry anymore.

That’s all for today. I’ll be back with another experiment or study soon. In the meantime, comment below your LinkedIn experience and what all you do to boost user engagements.

You’re permitted by the ASP.NET to utilize the full features programming language like VB.NET or C# (C-Sharp) to fabricate web applications effortlessly.

We’ll discuss over why ASP.NET development is used for creating a website as they’re essential too.

ASP.NET delivers HTML :

HTML is taken up as a mark-up language of choice; that means with artistic style and skills you can create few wonderful web applications with the help of ASP.NET. This ASP.NET develops all kinds of code on the server, and while it is being developed the server returns back the resulting HTML to the client.

Object-Oriented Programming on the Internet :

With ASP.NET, you can construct huge applications and this is possible with Object-Oriented Programming. The traditional ASP utilizes HTML as well as VBScript to practice and deliver the pages. But as VBScript is known to be a scripting language, you have to compulsorily write spaghetti code.

Grand XML Support :

It is effortless to make the ASP.NET in utilizing the XML for data storage, configuration, and operation. The tools that are fabricated in ASP.NET for exerting with XML are simple to apply. XML is remarkable for accumulating the information that hardly amends, as you can accumulate that info in your computer memory after it has been primarily removed.

Excellent Web Services :

Web services are regarded as the best feature of ASP.NET. Web services signify that you can gather many pieces of your application on distinct servers across the world, and the complete application can be worked uniquely. Web services can also work along with usual .NET Windows applications. You can use web services for many numbers of things, including currency exchange, news, login verification, etc.

Huge Class Library :

ASP.NET involves a huge class library that was developed by Microsoft. As the class library is big, it summarizes a vast number of general functions. In ASP.NET, you only have to write the code to combine the data to an object identified as a DataGrid, rather than marking any code to exhibit the data. After this, you can form a suggestion on your web page towards where the DataGrid should set off. This the DataGrid delivering as a table will comprise of every data taken out from the database.

ASP.NET development is even more important because of :
  • ASP.NET Web Pages that will offer information on how they execute and how to craft and program them.
  • ASP.NET Web Projects that offer information regarding how to craft ASP.NET Web applications.
  • ASP.NET Infrastructure provides details about the communication that causes ASP.NET that involves HTTP modules, HTTP handlers and distinct types of state management.
  • ASP.NET Controls affords info related to how ASP.NET web server and also user controls execute, how to include them to ASP.NET pages, and how to plan them.

10 Reasons You’re LinkedIn, But Still Not Tuned In!

LinkedIn is recognised as the B2B social media with a staggering global membership of over 120 million people.
It should be the place where savvy business net workers hang out, connect and form serious business relationships, right? I’ve considered for a while that the average LinkedIn user is the least sophisticated when compared with users of other social media, why might this be the case?

Well, perhaps because a larger part of the LinkedIn user base is made up of traditional business people, this traditional mindset is naturally going to try to employ more direct sales and marketing tactics on LinkedIn. I could continue to speculate but I’m not sure I would be any closer to the answer. So instead here are my 10 Reasons You’re LinkedIn, But Still Not Tuned In:

1. # You’re using your profile for your business

LinkedIn is a business networking tool. Remember people network with other people so ensure that you are using your profile in the correct manner, profiles are not for a business. Tip: You should use the companies page to add your business.

2. # You use the generic message to connect with people

Are you simply too lazy to add my name or give me a reason to connect with you? Just think about the message this sends out to everyone that you attempt to connect with! What does it say about you and how you represent your business?

3. # You indicate that someone is a friend even though they’ve never met you before

Again, this is sheer laziness when it comes to connecting. Claiming to be someone’s friend when you have never met that person before is both stupid and insulting.

4. # You try to sell stuff via the messages

OK, so now we have connected and what do you do, of course, you try to sell me and your other new connections stuff via the messages. Honestly, ask yourself! what are the chances?

5. # You abuse your contacts, by using them as a personal e-mail marketing list

Remind me again, when did I sign up to be on your e-mail list? Oh, that’s right I didn’t so stop abusing your connection with me in this manner.

6. # You automatically post all your tweets to LinkedIn

LinkedIn and Twitter are different communities with different expectations and cultures. Why then would you want to post all your tweets to LinkedIn?  Surely it’s better to be selective and share only tweets that contain #in or #li. Tip: You can change these settings at any time be clicking “Edit” next to your Twitter account name.

7. #  You ask for recommendations from people you don’t even know

If I don’t know you and if I haven’t worked with you previously, how can I in all honestly publicly vouch for you? I can’t so please don’t embarrass yourself by asking.

8. # You would rather spam than become an active member of the groups.

Groups provide an opportunity to engage and start to develop meaningful  businesses relationships, yet many prefer to spend their time spamming the discussions instead. Why join a LinkedIn group if you don’t really want to become an active member?

9. # You post promotions and jobs in the discussions section

Groups have three tabs where members can post under, they are:
  • discussions
  • promotions
  • jobs
This may seem fairly self explanatory but unfortunately it’s not for a great many people.

10. # You’ve created an account but you don’t use it

It continually amazes me the amount of people who go and set up their LinkedIn account and then just leave it unused and unloved. For all the ways that people continue to misuse and misunderstand LinkedIn, it remains a global networking platform full of opportunities for smart business people.
